Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Beautiful, premium design
  • Impeccable build quality
  • Feels good in hand
  • Decent on-screen keyboard with useful Hinglish, and Swipe-to-autocomplete features
  • Good for hardcore email and messaging
  • BlackBerry hub is useful as a central place for messages
  • Apart from native BlackBerry apps, you can also install a large number of Android apps
  • Decent battery life
  • Good build quality
  • Matte finish curved back provides good grip
  • Very good display - great contrast levels, good brightness levels, and decent viewing angles
  • Slick, minimalist Windows Phone interface
  • Decent speed/performance in daily use
  • Decent camera quality in well-let conditions
  • Very good call quality
  • Very good loudspeaker
  • Very good audio quality
  • Good battery life
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • BlackBerry OS 10 is not as simple or intuitive as Android/iOS/Windows phone, and takes quite a bit of time and effort to get used to
  • The gesture centric UI means that you have to move your thumb quite a lot over the large screen which takes longer and requires more effort than a simple button press would have
  • BBM today simply isn't the powerful draw it once was, with a plethora of messaging apps around
  • Voice search and command features aren't as capable as Apple's Siri or Google's voice search
  • Phone internal storage is not accessible from a PC without using BlackBerry's included desktop software (only microSD card is accessible)
  • Average camera
  • Occasionally laggy performance
  • Built-in speaker is pretty loud and works well for voice, but music is just too thin and tinny
  • Low screen resolution means the video watching experience is not that great
  • Windows Phone app ecosystem continues to lag behind Android and iOS
