Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Nice, aesthetic design - like the rest of the Zenfone range
  • Nice grip, and feel
  • Asus ZenUI is one of the better skins on top of Android
  • Decent speed/performance in daily use
  • Decent camera performance, with a nifty laser auto-focus system
  • Decent audio quality
  • Decent call quality
  • Amazing battery life - the phone can last a full 3-4 days on full charge, with moderate use!
  • Attention grabbing glossy pebble design - one of best looking budget phones on the market
  • Great ergonomics
  • There are no sharp lines here as the curved frame blends seamlessly into the textured back cover, with no semblance of an edge - with its rounded design, the phone sits comfortably in your palm
  • The texture of the rear cover offers good grip
  • Light-weight
  • Nice, sharp, bright display
  • LG's custom UI over Android is pretty functional, light, and has minimal bloatware
  • The rear speaker is fairly loud for alerts (but only average for media playback)
  • Decent front and back cameras (although HDR mode is missing)
  • Good battery life
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • A bit heavy - because of the large battery
  • Display is decent, but has a resolution on the low side
  • Takes over 5 hours to charge fully with the included 1A/5V charger
  • Plenty of bloatware comes pre-installed
  • Display lacks Gorilla Glass protection
  • The screen is a bit slow to react to ambient light changes
  • No notification LED
  • The Snapdragon 410 processor performs ok in daily use, but is a step behind its top competitors in this price range
  • Lacks fast-charging support, present in some of its competitors
  • No fingerprint sensor
