Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Flagship-grade design with a beautiful metal unibody
  • Beautiful, large, sharp display, with excellent contrast levels
  • eUI on top of Android is a nice, clutter-free, and butter-smooth experience, and has welcome customization options
  • Top-end performance backed by latest, top-end chipset
  • Very good fingerprint scanner
  • Excellent video player with seamless 4K playback
  • Very good loudspeaker
  • The Le Max 2 camera gets most things right with plenty of detail, contrast, and dynamic range and good HDR and Panorama modes as well
  • The 2160p videos are equally good as the still images from the main camera - fluid frame-rate, great detail, nice contrast, colors and dynamic range
  • Free bundled 1 year LeEco content subscription is a pretty nice value-add
  • Good build quality
  • Nice metal unibody design and brushed metal finish - feels good to hold
  • Smaller and slimmer than the K4 Note
  • Bundled clear cover for protecting the phone
  • Good display - solid brightness levels, contrast ratio, sunlight legibility and viewing angles
  • Display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection unlike the K4 Note
  • Lenovo‚Äôs Vibe UI adds some useful features on top of Android
  • Good speed/performance, including with games
  • Multitasking is smooth too, thanks to the ample RAM
  • Built-in support for VR glasses, similar to the K4 Note (ANT VR headset has to be purchased separately)
  • Decent, fast rear camera, especially for daylight shots - macro shots are good too and HDR shots came out well
  • The 8MP front-facing camera is good for selfies and video chats - colors are vibrant and the images are sharp as well
  • Fast fingerprint sensor
  • Thanks to Dolby Atmos, Wolfson WM8281 audio codec and 1.5W speaker, loudspeaker output is good and clear even in full volume
  • Audio output through headphones is good as well
  • Good call quality
  • Good battery life - a definite improvement over the K4 Note - lasts a full day
  • Useful power saving modes to further reduce battery consumption
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • Heavy and a bit cumbersome
  • Battery life is decent, but could have been better
  • You will need to use CDLA compliant USB-C headphones to actually derive the benefit of the lossless audio technology (instead of using standard jack headphones with the bundled USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter)
  • You will not be able to charge the phone at the same time as listening to music, which could be an inconvenience
  • No NFC support
  • Hybrid dual SIM slot lets you either use dual SIMS or a memory card, but not both together
  • No special support for quick charging unlike some of its competitors
  • Low-light camera performance of the phone is strictly average - with plenty of noise in the shots
