Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Good build quality
  • Nice metal unibody design and brushed metal finish - feels good to hold
  • Smaller and slimmer than the K4 Note
  • Bundled clear cover for protecting the phone
  • Good display - solid brightness levels, contrast ratio, sunlight legibility and viewing angles
  • Display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection unlike the K4 Note
  • Lenovo’s Vibe UI adds some useful features on top of Android
  • Good speed/performance, including with games
  • Multitasking is smooth too, thanks to the ample RAM
  • Built-in support for VR glasses, similar to the K4 Note (ANT VR headset has to be purchased separately)
  • Decent, fast rear camera, especially for daylight shots - macro shots are good too and HDR shots came out well
  • The 8MP front-facing camera is good for selfies and video chats - colors are vibrant and the images are sharp as well
  • Fast fingerprint sensor
  • Thanks to Dolby Atmos, Wolfson WM8281 audio codec and 1.5W speaker, loudspeaker output is good and clear even in full volume
  • Audio output through headphones is good as well
  • Good call quality
  • Good battery life - a definite improvement over the K4 Note - lasts a full day
  • Useful power saving modes to further reduce battery consumption
  • Solid build quality
  • Nice, elegant design
  • Comfortable to hold
  • Water-resistant
  • Decent display - images and websites looked fairly crisp and sharp
  • Comes loaded with clean, near stock Android, with almost no bloatware
  • Decent speed/performance - pleasant to use in daily use
  • Decent rear camera - takes pretty good outdoor photos (in mixed light, it takes OK photos, and in low light, it struggles and images tend to have some noise)
  • Decent front camera too - skin tones looked fairly natural in selfies
  • Decent video recording performance - takes serviceable HD videos at 30 fps
  • Nice, loud front-facing speaker
  • Overall reliable hardware and software
  • Very good battery life - easily last for a little more than a day for moderate to heavy usage
  • Removable/replaceable battery
  • One the whole a good option for users looking for an decent device that’s solid, runs well, and has a battery that’ll last all day
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • Hybrid dual SIM slot lets you either use dual SIMS or a memory card, but not both together
  • No special support for quick charging unlike some of its competitors
  • Low-light camera performance of the phone is strictly average - with plenty of noise in the shots
  • Average sunlight legibility of the display
  • Although performance in daily use is good enough, it tends to lag when playing games and taking panoramic photos
  • No fingerprint sensor
  • No gyroscope
  • Bundled charger has a slow charging speed - taking about 4 hours to full charge
