Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Good build quality
  • Nice metal unibody design and brushed metal finish - feels good to hold
  • Smaller and slimmer than the K4 Note
  • Bundled clear cover for protecting the phone
  • Good display - solid brightness levels, contrast ratio, sunlight legibility and viewing angles
  • Display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection unlike the K4 Note
  • Lenovo‚Äôs Vibe UI adds some useful features on top of Android
  • Good speed/performance, including with games
  • Multitasking is smooth too, thanks to the ample RAM
  • Built-in support for VR glasses, similar to the K4 Note (ANT VR headset has to be purchased separately)
  • Decent, fast rear camera, especially for daylight shots - macro shots are good too and HDR shots came out well
  • The 8MP front-facing camera is good for selfies and video chats - colors are vibrant and the images are sharp as well
  • Fast fingerprint sensor
  • Thanks to Dolby Atmos, Wolfson WM8281 audio codec and 1.5W speaker, loudspeaker output is good and clear even in full volume
  • Audio output through headphones is good as well
  • Good call quality
  • Good battery life - a definite improvement over the K4 Note - lasts a full day
  • Useful power saving modes to further reduce battery consumption
  • Good build quality
  • Aesthetic design - brushed metal at the back gives the phone a premium look and offers good grip
  • The 5-inch display feels compact and is easy for one handed operations, and for people with small hands
  • Decent display with vibrant colors, and good viewing angles
  • Funtouch OS over Android looks attractive and has some useful added functionality (though it is a little cluttered)
  • Decent speed/performance
  • Loud and clear speaker
  • Good audio quality via headphones too
  • Decent front (selfie) camera
  • Fast, accurate fingerprint sensor
  • Good battery life - easily lasts a day with moderate to heavy use
  • Fast charging support
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • Hybrid dual SIM slot lets you either use dual SIMS or a memory card, but not both together
  • No special support for quick charging unlike some of its competitors
  • Low-light camera performance of the phone is strictly average - with plenty of noise in the shots
  • Display is a little reflective, and prone to smudges
  • Display resolution could have been better
  • Average rear camera - daylight images come a little washed out, while low light images have plenty of noise
  • Average call quality
  • Heats up a bit when playing heavy games
