Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Good build quality with a fibreglass frame to keep the weight down and a magnesium alloy roll cage for sturdiness
  • Chic, premium design (similar to the iPhone 5S)
  • Compact, convenient size with a 5-inch screen making it one of the few easy-to-handle premium smartphones in the market today - something that will appeal to a lot of people who want power and quality, but not large phablet-esque dimensions
  • Manages to keep a relatively slim profile and manageable weight of 150g
  • Fast, accurate fingerprint sensor (embedded in the home button) - significantly improved compared to the Zuk Z1
  • Extended home button functionality is very nicely implemented, and allows for quick navigation via gestures
  • Very good display - sharp, clean and bright, with colours that are fairly accurate and natural-looking
  • Display customization options includes colour temperature, as well as a night mode
  • Lenovo's ZUI launcher, is mostly stock Android, with a few customisations
  • Excellent speed/performance throughout - on par with top-end Android flagship smartphones - and yet at a mid-range price!
  • Very good battery life - can muster over a day and half with moderate use
  • Decent call quality
  • Decent rear camera - handles colours and finer details well
  • The 8-megapixel on the front is also good and delivers crisp and wide shots
  • Beautiful, premium, high-end design - with a metal chassis and rounded glass edges in the front
  • Build quality is superb, fit and finish are exemplary
  • Very light (at 145g), slim, and surprisingly comfortable to use with one hand thanks to very narrow bezels on either side of the screen
  • Good AMOLED display with vivid colours, good levels of brightness, and Gorilla Glass 4 protection
  • Color OS UI over Android looks nice (and quite a bit like the iOS interface), and works well
  • Good speed/performance
  • Excellent, fast fingerprint sensor
  • Good call quality
  • Decent loudspeaker - sufficiently loud without sounding tinny and hollow
  • Very good camera performance, especially in daylight - both for the rear and the front cameras
  • Good battery life
  • Support for Oppo's VOOC fast charging system (charges over 50% in half an hour)
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • As is the case with phones that have a glass back, it is a bit of a smudge magnet
  • The charger included in the box is an ordinary 10W unit rather than a Fast Charge 3.0 capable charger - which means that the phone's fast charging capabilities don't get fully utilized
  • Average loudspeaker
  • Misses out on an FM Radio, and NFC support
