Our Opinion

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (3GB RAM, 32GB) is a slightly better phone, but the 10.or G (3GB RAM, 32GB) is significantly better value for money. Which phone should you buy? Depends on how much your want to spend!

2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Comes with a metallic unibody for a premium look and feel (like many other phones in this price bracket)
  • The edges are curved to ensure a solid grip
  • Decent 5.5-inch Full HD display - delivers clarity, brightness and balanced colours - watching movies or playing games is a fairly good experience
  • Stock Android keeps things nice and simple, and adds to the seamless performance of the phone
  • Good overall performance backed by a capable Snapdragon 625 - multi-tasking, games, videos - everything runs well
  • Decent dual camera setup on the rear - the bokeh shots come out reasonably well
  • Good selfie camera too, with beautify mode, front flash and various filters
  • Good battery life - will comfortably last the day even with heavy use
  • High-end, premium metal design, and excellent build quality - befitting a much more expensive phone
  • Impressive, bright display, with great color accuracy
  • Fast fingerprint reader
  • MIUI on top of Android works great, runs fast, and has excellent theming and customization options, making it easy to find the look you want
  • Powerful Spandragon 625 chipset ensures smooth, effortless performance all throughout
  • Good loudspeaker
  • Pretty decent camera - although it tends to produce photos a little bit on the soft side - but overall it's good, and a significant improvement over the Redmi Note 3
  • Top-notch battery life - again, improved even over the already very good Redmi Note 3 - even with heavy usage, you can get close to two full days out of it
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • Low light performance of the camera is pretty average
  • No support for fast charging
  • Audio quality via headphones is average
  • Doesn't use the new USB-C standard
