2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Solid build quality
  • Tips the scales at 170g, but doesn't feel heavy
  • Well designed coarse back panel, lends the phone a sophisticated look and feel
  • The side panel is beefed up with a chamfered metal frame with greyish finish on it which blends with the phone's black and grey shade very well
  • Good, large display, that thankfully doesn't smudge easily unlike other budget phones
  • Gorilla glass protection on the display
  • Near-stock Android interface, with Micromax's useful local services directory "Around" built-in
  • Good, dependable speed/performance overall
  • Good rear and front camera performance, in well lit conditions
  • Good loudspeaker
  • Good battery life with a full day backup
  • Good quality bundled earphones
  • Good call quality
  • Compact, smart looking, premium design with a metal build - very similar to the Redmi Note 3, but more easy to handle (because of the smaller size)
  • Excellent ergonomics, with the curves on the back making the phone very comfortable to hold
  • Light-weight with an excellent weight distribution, despite the large battery it holds inside
  • Nice, vibrant, and bright display, with excellent touch-responsiveness, and good viewing angles
  • MIUI is a one of the better Android skins around
  • Good speed/performance (though multi-tasking performance is a notch below the Redmi 3s Prime because of lesser RAM)
  • Decent camera
  • Excellent battery life - easily lasts a day and a half in regular use
  • Fast, accurate fingerprint sensor
  • Good audio quality
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • Average camera performance in low-light conditions
  • Tends to heat up during gaming etc
  • Comes pre-loaded with a lot of bloatware
  • Camera is decent, and almost at par with the more expensive Redmi Note 3, but still could have been better, especially with low light performance
  • Loudspeaker volume could have been better
