2-Minute Review

Let's cut through the noise, and get to the crux of it. 7 Expert Reviews analysed and summarised by the PhoneCurry Editorial Team, in a short and sweet 2-minute review.

Design

  • Decent build quality and design - certainly much better than what its price would indicate
  • Nice textured panel at the back
  • The compact 4-inch screen means that the phone slips into your hands or pocket pretty effortlessly
  • Additionally the battery used doesn't seem to be meant for the phone, and falls out when you open the back cover of the phone

Display

  • Pretty decent display given the price - although it has muted colors, narrow viewing angles, poor sunlight legibility, and a bit of a parallax effect

Software

  • Largely stock Android interface with only the icons modified
  • The software itself is amateur and unrefined in places - for instance the phone gets spelled as "Freeddm" in Settings and other places

Performance

  • The hardware inside the phone and what Ringing Bells lists on the box doesn't seem to match - benchmarking apps indicate 512MB RAM, and a 1.9MP camera!
  • Slow, laggy performance - the phone will allow you to make calls, send messages, and do some basic browsing but that's about it - everything else will be a struggle

Camera

  • Decent cameras for the price

Audio

  • Acceptable call quality
  • Good volume loudspeaker

Battery

  • Average battery life - barely manages to last the day, and will often need to be charged twice a day

More

  • The default language is Hindi, which can be changed to English but it resets itself to Hindi after every reboot
  • Practically speaking, for most people, the phone can be a disposable device that one can buy in an emergency or something for the children to play with - but it will be difficult to recommend this as a primary device
