What We Liked

  • All-metal body, and polished design, gives the phone a premium feel
  • Quick fingerprint scanner
  • Fingerprint sensor also has extensive gesture support for all kinds of navigation
  • The 5.5-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display on the Lenovo P2 is vibrant, with good visibility even under direct sunlight - text and images appear really sharp, and the screen size makes the device well suited for media consumption - viewing angles are decent, and colour reproduction is adequate
  • The Vibe Pure UI on top of Android in now relatively leaner with less bloatware, and includes plenty of useful functionality like Dual Apps mode, Knock to Light, VR mode, Wide Touch, and Secure Zone
  • The UI is also pretty smooth and fast for everyday usage
  • Overall the Lenovo P2 performs really well when it comes to multitasking and general app performance, including games
  • Good call quality
  • Decent loudspeaker, though there is some distortion at higher volumes
  • Decent cameras overall, with fast focus speed, especially in good light
  • The 5100mAh battery is exceptional, managing to last over two days, even with heavy use
  • Fast charging support is a huge advantage too, easily managing 30-40 percent charge in just 20 minutes - and the phone can be charged fully in less than 90 minutes, which is again impressive
  • Additionally, the left side also has a slider switch that Lenovo calls a "power-saving key", which toggles the Ultimate Power Saver mode - which dramatically extends the battery life by killing lots of features like cellular data connectivity and syncing - it could really come in handy in emergency situations
  • Overall with the great battery life, and the power management features, the phone is a very good prospect for power users who like to be online all the time without worrying about their battery level, or frequent travelers

What We Didn't

  • A bit heavier than most others in its class, due to its massive battery - in everyday usage, you will be more comfortable when using it with two hands, especially when typing
  • The bundled earphones are pretty average
