Our Opinion

The HTC 10 is a significantly better phone, but the HTC Desire 10 Pro is much better value for money. Which phone should you buy? Depends on how much you want to spend! But if that is not a constraint then we recommend the HTC 10

2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Elegantly chiseled unibody design
  • Feels solid, and looks handsome, with the same industrial aesthetic that HTC is famous for
  • Solid, sturdy build, that should be able to take a lot of wear and tear
  • Fast and accurate fingerprint sensor
  • Excellent, sharp display
  • Settings to let you tune the color accuracy to your personal preference
  • Fantastic, light, yet highly customizable user interface, with unique themes, and HTC's signature Blinkfeed
  • Excellent, butter-smooth performance
  • Very good rear camera
  • Excellent front camera for selfies
  • Brilliant audio quality - this is the phone to get if you want to get the best audio on a smartphone
  • Music through the dual audio speakers is loud and clear
  • Music through the earbuds is even better with deep bass and excellent clarity
  • Compatible with Apple's AirPlay streaming standard (can stream music to supported devices)
  • The battery uses Quick Charge 3.0 technology from Qualcomm, which promises a 50 percent charge in 30 minutes
  • Excellent build quality
  • Delivers a pleasing level of grip and comfort, with a soft matte finish
  • Good fingerprint scanner
  • Good display - bright and clear - ensuring videos and games look great
  • HTC's Sense UI is one of the better Android overlays around, allowing you to customize your home screens with various themes and stickers for a personal touch, while at the same time keeping things simple
  • Smooth, lag-free performance
  • Good rear camera - same as the one on HTC One M9, and even adding laser autofocus to the mix
  • Good front camera which has an HDR mode and a selfie panorama mode, allowing you to get even more buddies into your shots
  • Good audio quality especially when listening via headphones
  • Decent battery life - lasts a full day in general usage, and there's fast charging (0 to 100 per cent in a little over 90 minutes) for when it runs low
  • Beautiful, striking aesthetics with a polycarbonate body
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • Camera performance is very good, but is still just a little behind the other top flagships - the Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 6S
  • Battery life is good, but doesn't last quite as long as its top competitors
  • Misses out on some features like a Type-C USB connector, NFC, and Wi-Fi ac, that are usually now expected in this price bracket
  • While general performance is great, gaming performance is not top-of-the-line for this price range
