2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Well built
  • Ergonomically sized, comfortable for one-handed use
  • Fingerprint scanner at the back is easy to reach, and quite responsive
  • Useful physical button that can be setup to to play/ pause music, switch tracks, or launch a custom app
  • Decent Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection - viewing angles are good and colour reproduction is decent
  • Stock Android UI keeps thing nice and simple, and will be much appreciated by Android enthusiasts
  • Good all-round performance backed by solid hardware - multitasking is easy with several apps running in the background, and games run well too
  • Decent dual-camera setup on the rear - decent bokeh shots (as long as you set it up right), good macros, and indoor shots are also pretty good
  • Decent front camera too - photos taken with the the front camera are good and can be used on messengers and social networking apps - also, the front flash is handy in dark areas
  • Very good battery life - the phone can run for a day and a half with regular use
  • Pretty decent charging speed - takes about 2 hours to charge fully
  • Dedicated slots for dual SIM cards and memory card (which is a always a good thing when many other phones are choosing to come out with a hybrid SIM/memory slot)
  • On the whole, if stock Android and good battery life appeal to you, then the Lenovo K8 Plus is a good choice
  • Nice design language, and has a solid feel in the hand
  • For its price, the t.phone P also feels quite premium due to its metal body
  • The power button has a textured finish which is a thoughtful addition
  • Good display - it is sharp, color reproduction is saturated and punchy, and the display has good viewing angles and it gets quite bright so outdoor visibility is well above par
  • Near stock Android UI keeps things nice and simple
  • Decent day-to-day performance, powered by the reliable Snapdragon 435 Octa Core chipset
  • Unmatched battery life on a budget phone - the massive 5000 mAh battery, coupled with the power efficient Snapdragon 435 processor and the 720p display, means the t.phone P easily lasts over two days with normal day to day use
  • On the whole, the t.phone P is a solid alternative to the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 - if you’re looking for a device with a premium build quality and amazing battery life, the t.phone P easily trumps the Redmi Y1 with its metal finish and 5, 000mAh battery - in UI and performance too, the t.phone P comes out slightly ahead - though, in terms of camera quality, the Redmi Y1 is definitely ahead
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • A bit on the thick and bulky side, measuring 8.99mm and weighing 165g
  • Sunlight legibility of the display could have been better
  • Rear camera is pretty good but could have been a bit better in landscape mode, and with HDR
  • Also the camera tends to sometimes lag a bit in depth (bokeh) mode
  • Average rear and front cameras - pictures have a significant amount of noise - much like most phones in this price bracket
  • The single bottom firing speaker is on the weak side
  • A little bit on the heavier side, thanks to the large battery
  • No fast charging
