Editor's Note [Positives]
  • Premium look and feel, and aesthetic design
  • Compact dimensions with a 5-inch display
  • Thin and light
  • HTC Sense is one of the more refined Android UIs
  • Decent speed/performance in day-to-day use - the phone is generally impressive with zippy navigation and handles playback of full HD video without any issues
  • Decent rear camera with minimal noise in daylight as well as indoors
  • Premium metal design, with amazing attention to detail
  • Top-notch build quality
  • Brilliant in-hand feel, with edges that curve perfectly
  • Good display with vivid colors, wide viewing angles, and good sunlight visibility
  • MIUI is one of the better interfaces built over Android, and has a lot of useful functionality, but is still simple to use
  • Top-level, power packed performance with best-in-class hardware - and 3GB of RAM results in very good multi-tasking performance too
  • Excellent battery life - this phone is an absolute road-runner
  • Excellent, responsive fingerprint scanner
  • Good call quality
Editor's Note [Negatives]
  • The back panel has a glossy finish on the Desire 628 which is a fingerprint magnet and requires constant cleaning
  • The power and volume button sit flat with the frame on the side - when pressed they don't give the satisfying clicky feel of a button
  • Mediocre battery life - struggles to last through the day
  • Average front camera
  • The in-ear speaker volume is on the lower side, which hinders call quality
  • No fingerprint scanner
  • Camera is pretty decent, but could have been better
