2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Good build quality
  • Simple, clean, no-nonsense design
  • Slim, lightweight, and easy to use with one hand
  • Features a textured material with a silicone-like feel on the back that avoids fingerprints, and allows for a lot of grip
  • The 5.2-inch IPS screen is quite good
  • A dedicated programmable button on the side of the phone can be used to launch any app you want - can be used as a quick flashlight or camera toggle
  • BlackBerry's software tweaks, like the Productivity tab, mostly improve the Android experience, and make for one of the best Android UIs
  • Good software keyboard
  • Decent pair of stereo speakers (they face front and back)
  • The battery supports Quick Charge 2.0 allowing the device to charge to full capacity in about 2 hours
  • Elegant, classy glass and metal design with high quality finish - well suited as an office device
  • Feels great in the hand
  • Vibrant, crisp display
  • Nearly pure Android experience, with the added Productivity Tab & BlackBerry Hub to give you quick access to your calendar, unread messages, tasks, and favorite contacts - serving as an important element of efficiency on the DTEK60
  • The BlackBerry on-screen keyboard is fast and accurate
  • Additionally security features like the DTEK app, and fast monthly security updates - arguably making it the most secure Android phone right now
  • Full enterprise mobility management support
  • Smooth, reliable performance
  • Very good dual stereo speakers - louder and clearer than most other flagships
  • Good camera (though not quite up to the level of top Android cameras like the Google Pixel or Galaxy S7, especially with low light photos)
  • Decent battery life - lasts the day with moderate use
  • Support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • The camera struggles a lot in low light - delivering super noisy, smudgy photos in most places that aren't outdoors
  • It is also much slower to focus or shoot HDR images than today's high-end phones
  • Overall performance is lacking - both in real life usage, and benchmarks, putting it in the same category as much lower priced phones
  • BlackBerry's security claims are overstated, and a lot of the claimed security featured are now standard parts of the newer versions of Android
  • Mediocre battery life - barely lasts till the evening with moderate use
  • No fingerprint sensor
  • No water resistance, unlike some other flagships
  • Back glass scratches easily (so using a case is highly recommended)
  • On the whole, while security is its forte, and that might be valued by some users, it falls behind other flagship devices in many things which are more relevant to a general smartphone user
