2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Premium glass-metal design
  • With small bezel size (just 2.7mm) the overall size is kept relatively manageable for such a large screen device
  • The flattened mid section too helps in making it easy to hold
  • Samsung's expertise in making good AMOLED screen shines through in the A9 Pro as well - although the resolution is relatively low at 1080p, the screen looks sharp, offers superb contrast, viewing angles and brightness
  • If you find the colours not to your liking, you can also switch modes from the display settings (adaptive/cinema photo/basic modes)
  • Good overall speed/performance, powered by the Snapdragon 652 processor, paired with 4GB RAM - offers the same class of performance as previous generation flagships - but falls behind the current Snapdragon 820 phones like Le Max 2 and Mi5 which are available in even lower price brackets
  • The 16MP primary camera offers good quality results and has optical image stabilization - although it is easily outclassed by the top camera phones in this price range like the OnePlus 3
  • The battery is massive at 5, 000mAh and combined with the efficient Snapdragon 652, delivers two full days of battery life
  • Fast charging support (30 minutes of charging will give you about a 30 per cent charge)
  • On the whole, if you want a really large screen smartphone from one of the top brands, A9 Pro is a good deal, but if you are ok about going with middle level or smaller brands, you can do better by getting better performance, more RAM, storage and better cameras at a cheaper price
  • Exceptional build quality - crafted entirely from metal and Corning Gorilla Glass 4, so it will stand up even to the demands of the heaviest power user
  • Superb design - premium fusion of metal and glass
  • Distinctive back, which is curved towards the edges
  • Arguably one of the best looking flagship phones to date
  • Great ergonomics - quite possibly the easiest device with a 5.7" display to handle
  • Excellent display - bright, sharp, and has accurate color reproduction, great viewing angles, great contrast levels, and good saturation level
  • New refined TouchWiz interface over Android, which is leaner and more customizable
  • New improved click and release S-Pen adds lots of useful features
  • Top-notch performance backed by top-end hardware - easily one of the fastest Android smartphone to date, with a faster LPDDR4 4GB RAM
  • Fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor work flawlessly
  • Excellent fast and responsive camera - images have plenty of detail, excellent colors and dynamic range and the sharpness is among the best on a mobile phone
  • Great low light image quality
  • Exceptional video capture quality
  • Excellent call quality
  • Excellent audio quality
  • Excellent loudspeaker
  • Excellent battery life
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • No notification LED
  • All glass body can be slippery and prone to smudges, so using a case would be a good idea
