2-minute Review [Positives] |
- Looks snazzy - the plastic chassis is finished in 2 colour gradient, which fades from a darker to a lighter shade as you cast your eyes downward
- The front has pleasingly rounded edges and slimline bezels with a tear-drop notch that look striking, for a phone at this price
- Decent fingerprint sensor at the back
- Vibrant, large 6.5-inches IPS display - the images on the screen have a good amount of pop thanks to the display’s reasonably high contrast
- Motorola continues to keep the software on it's phones clean, and simple - it's basically stock Android with a few useful Moto add-ons
- Decent performance from the dated MediaTek Helio P35 - the phone feels fast when jumping from app to app and there's no issue in regular use, thanks to the clean and light software Motorola uses
- Good triple rear camera setup - a 16MP primary module, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor
- The primary camera takes decent photos in daylight conditions and the HDR image processing also does a good job at boosting the saturation of the scene and images have a pop in them
- Low-light shooting is surprisingly good for the price - images appear bright, and the camera does an excellent job of teasing textures out from the shadows without adding too much visual noise
- The macro camera is a lot of fun to play around with - it’s capable of capturing intricate details on the smallest objects, from a macro distance of 2 cm
- The 8MP selfie camera does a good job at taking clear sharp photos and it also offers a selfie portrait mode, which works well
- Excellent battery life from the 5000 mAh battery - a full charge will easily last you for 2 days of regular use
- The Motorola Power Lite offers clear software, excellent battery and a good set of cameras for the price, if that's all you're looking for, it does the job well
|
- Looks sleek and eye-catching with its iridescent finish - the plastic back has this rainbow-like effect
- The front looks trendy with minimal screen bezels and an unobtrusive hole-punch in the top-left corner
- Samsung has gotten the software part on point with its recent launches, with it's new One UI, that's now one of the better, more streamlined Android skins around - it's especially well suited for big displays like this, packs an intuitive gesture navigation system, and other useful things like a convenient 'dark mode'
- Good quadruple-camera array - a primary 48MP lens, supported by an 8MP ultra-wide angle unit, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor
- The Galaxy A21s manages to take a pretty good picture from the primary camera - it produces wonderfully detail-rich images with plenty of vibrancy
- Live Focus mode (portrait mode) allows adjusting the level of blur either before, or after, you press the shutter button, and the results are good
- Macro mode is also a lot of fun - it captures some crisp closeups
- Excellent battery life with the 5000 mAh cell - combined with a low-res screen and a power-efficient CPU, it would easily last you for 2 days of moderate use
- Supports 15W fast charging
|
2-minute Review [Negatives] |
- At 200g, the phone is reasonably hefty
- It also picks up greasy fingerprints a little too easily
- Sunlight legibility isn't great
- However, this is not the most powerful phone at this price and gaming on this phone is a no go - the Realme Narzo 10A and C3 both offer outstanding performance at this price
- No fast charging
- However, if you want a bit more power in your phone the Narzo 10A is an excellent phone at this price, though it's not for stock Android lovers
|
- Average 6.5-inch TFT LCD - the HD resolution is rather low for a phone at this price, and the colour reproduction isn't great
- The Galaxy A21s is powered by Samsung's new Exynos 850 chipset, which gets things done and that's about it - it doesn't compete with the powerful processor other phones offer and heavy games are a no go
- Overall, the Galaxy A21s has quite capable cameras, though they aren't the class-leading
- On the whole, while the Galaxy A21s is a fashionable choice for the price bracket, and does exceptionally well with battery life and a decent set of cameras - however, it falls a bit behind in terms of performance and display - you will find better all-round options from the likes of Xiaomi, Realme and Motorola
