2-minute Review [Positives] |
- Looks trendy with thin-bezel, tear-drop notch design
- Solid build with a roughened plastic shell
- The smartphone feels quite handy
- Dedicated Google Assistant button
- Reliable Face Unlock
- Bright, large 6.2-inch IPS panel
- The best part about Nokia's phones remains the clean, stock Android One experience with the promise of regular software updates for up to two years
- Decent smooth system performance, given that it's backed by the entry level MediaTek Helio A22
- Decent dual rear cameras - 13MP primary + 2MP depth sensor
- Primary camera does a decent job in good lighting conditions - photos are illuminated homogeneously
- The front camera delivers decent pictures in daylight (though the portrait mode does tend to overdo it a bit)
- The Nokia 2.3 achieves really good runtime with its 4000 mAh battery, you'll easily get two days of battery with it
- Overall, if you're looking for a smartphone with long battery life and Android One for little money, the Nokia 2.3 does the job
|
- Catchy, elegant 'Sunrise' rear design, similar to the Realme 5i - the back panel produces a sun-ray like pattern when light hits it which looks stunning
- Trendy, tear-drop notch front design - the bezels on the sides are impressively thin for smartphones at this price
- The matte finished back with lines and patterns almost completely eliminates the chances of getting fingerprints or smudges - it also adds a lot of grip and gives the phone a very solid, sturdy feel
- The 20:9 aspect ratio makes the smartphone tall and slim, so it's relatively comfortable to hold and use
- Face recognition is quick to unlock the smartphone in different lighting conditions
- Large, 6.5 inch IPS display with HD+ resolution - the colors are vibrant with a decent amount of sharpness
- Sunlight legibility is also good - the display gets bright enough for comfortable outdoor use
- The Realme C3 comes with Realme UI based on Android 10 which is much more streamlined and clean compared to previous realme phones - it still packs a lot of useful features like Dark mode, Focus mode, Game Space and Personal Information Protection
- Excellent performance for the price - the MediaTek Helio G70 throws the competition out of the park and scores even higher at benchmarks than the much pricier Galaxy A51 and the Oppo F15 - there's no noticeable lag in regular use and PUBG Mobile on the Realme C3 defaults to High presets and runs fairly smooth
- Decent dual camera setup for the price - a 12MP primary shooter + a 2MP depth sensor
- In daylight, the Realme C3 is quick to lock focus and does a fair job of metering light, photos look good and the quality is better than what some of the other smartphones at this price point can produce
- There's also a decent Macro mode which lets you get very close to the subject (focusing at close distance could be an issue though)
- Decent portrait mode, with good edge detection (though, the quality could have been better)
- Decent video recording quality, with a option to shoot slow motion videos
- Impressive battery life with a big 5000 mAh battery - it lasts for two full days on a single charge with moderate usage
- The Realme C3 is an easy smartphone to recommend and a solid update to the Realme C2 - it packs a powerful SoC, battery life is excellent, offers a large screen for media consumption and camera performance is acceptable for the price
|
2-minute Review [Negatives] |
- No fingerprint scanner
- There's a minor flickering at low brightness
- However, this is clearly not a gaming phone - there is lag while loading simple games and more demanding titles are hard to think of
- Most of the competition in this price range will now give much better SoCs
- The loudspeaker sounds a bit thin and tinny in everyday use
- However, there are better options available from Xiaomi & Realme at this price which offer better performance and even better battery life
|
- A bit heavy, at 195g
- There is no Widevine L1 certification which means that you cannot enjoy HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime
- There's still some bloatware that comes pre-installed
- Low light photos are average, as expected, they lack detail and aren't very sharp
- Selfies are average too with inaccurate colour tone and low sharpness and details
- Still offers the old MicroUSB, while the competition has started offering USB Type-C in the budget segment
- Charging is on the slower side with the 10W charger - it takes over 3 hours to charge the smartphone completely
