2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Looks nice with a snazzy plastic shell with matte finish (though a subtle gradient finish or some kind of patterned design, as is the trend these days, would have been even better)
  • Good build quality
  • Good ergonomics
  • Face unlock works decently well
  • Large 6.1-inch display, with a modern dewdrop-style notch design
  • ColorOS UI packs a bunch of add-on features like the smart sidebar, which makes multitasking more convenient
  • Both the rear and front cameras support Portrait mode using software algorithms, which works just fine
  • Large 4000mAh battery means the device can easily last over a day and a half on a single charge
  • Pleasant, refreshing design - back is textured similar to other budget realme phones, there is also a strip coming down the square-shape camera module, which adds a bit of charm to overall look
  • Front has a similar affair with a dew-drop notch and thin bezels
  • The patterned back almost completely eliminates the chances of getting fingerprints or smudges - it also adds a lot of grip and gives the phone a very solid, sturdy feel
  • Face recognition is quick to unlock the smartphone in different lighting conditions
  • Large, 6.5 inch IPS display with HD+ resolution - the colors are vibrant with a decent amount of sharpness
  • Sunlight legibility is also good - the display gets bright enough for comfortable outdoor use
  • The Realme C11 comes with Realme UI based on Android 10 which is much more streamlined and clean compared to previous realme phones - it still packs a lot of useful features like Dark mode, Focus mode, Game Space and Personal Information Protection
  • Decent dual camera setup for the price - a 13MP primary shooter + a 2MP depth sensor
  • The main camera can click photos with good details in bright light - photos have a lot of details, colours have a punch, come out well even when shot against a direct light source, thanks to the HDR and chroma boost
  • The portrait shots look good, and the edge detection is decent as well
  • The 5MP front camera can shoot decent selfies - the portrait mode works for the front camera as well, bringing out a more aggressive bokeh effect than the one produced by the dedicated sensor at the back
  • Decent video recording quality, with a option to shoot slow motion videos
  • Uses the old MicroUSB plug, while the competition has started offering USB Type-C in the budget segment
  • Impressive battery life with a big 5000 mAh battery - it lasts for two full days on a single charge with moderate usage
  • Realme C11 is worth buying as long as your usage is basic - it has a good display that produces bright colours, cameras manage to deliver beautiful shots and the battery the can last days
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • No rear fingerprint reader
  • Legibility under sunlight could have been better
  • There is also plenty of pre-installed bloatware - though thankfully these apps can be uninstalled
  • While the Helio P22 (similar to Snapdragon 625) provides for decent day-to-day performance, the RAM being limited to 2GB means that multi-tasking is not that convenient
  • Average single rear camera, on the whole - while daylight shots are decent and offer enough details, low light performance is poor
  • Average front camera too, on the whole - again while it can click decent shots in daylight, low light shots are ordinary
  • Overall, the Oppo A1k, while it has some positives, feels a bit overpriced - especially considering that you can get a very similar specs Realme C2 smartphone at a significantly lower price
  • A bit heavy, at 196g
  • There is no Widevine L1 certification which means that you cannot enjoy HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime
  • There's still some bloatware that comes pre-installed
  • Performance of the realme C11 is strictly average - the apps begin to lag when you try browsing the internet and running apps in the background simultaneously - as far as gaming is concerned, it is capable of handling light games only such as Temple Run, Candy Crush etc
  • Low light photos are average, as expected, they lack detail and aren't very sharp
  • Charging is on the slower side with the 10W charger - it takes over 3 hours to charge the smartphone completely
  • If you're looking for a good performing phone with all other bells and whistles, there's the realme C3 as alternative

  1. Is taking on several heavyweights at this price, including the Redmi 7, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, and Realme 3... Unfortunately it doesn't outshine these options except in terms of battery life
