2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Classy looking chassis - and a contemporary look, and a near edge-to-edge display with a small notch and larger screen-to-body ratio
  • The gold accent around the horizontal dual rear camera setup, and fingerprint sensor adds some flair
  • Both the fingerprint sensor and face unlock work pretty well
  • Nice display - renders vivid colors, and brightness levels are decent enough for outdoor visibility
  • Color OS is pretty feature packed - you get a lot of shortcuts, gestures, and features like Smart Sidebar, Game space, Kid space, and a bunch of different security options
  • Decent set of dual rear cameras for the price - everything looks decent in daylight with good enough details - giving you social media shareable pictures
  • Macros look fairly decent too with punchy colors and adequate details
  • Decent portrait shots, with reasonably good edge detection
  • Very good battery life - you will get 1.5 days+ with a big 4230mAh battery
  • Pleasant, refreshing design - back is textured similar to other budget realme phones, there is also a strip coming down the square-shape camera module, which adds a bit of charm to overall look
  • Front has a similar affair with a dew-drop notch and thin bezels
  • The patterned back almost completely eliminates the chances of getting fingerprints or smudges - it also adds a lot of grip and gives the phone a very solid, sturdy feel
  • Face recognition is quick to unlock the smartphone in different lighting conditions
  • Large, 6.5 inch IPS display with HD+ resolution - the colors are vibrant with a decent amount of sharpness
  • Sunlight legibility is also good - the display gets bright enough for comfortable outdoor use
  • The Realme C11 comes with Realme UI based on Android 10 which is much more streamlined and clean compared to previous realme phones - it still packs a lot of useful features like Dark mode, Focus mode, Game Space and Personal Information Protection
  • Decent dual camera setup for the price - a 13MP primary shooter + a 2MP depth sensor
  • The main camera can click photos with good details in bright light - photos have a lot of details, colours have a punch, come out well even when shot against a direct light source, thanks to the HDR and chroma boost
  • The portrait shots look good, and the edge detection is decent as well
  • The 5MP front camera can shoot decent selfies - the portrait mode works for the front camera as well, bringing out a more aggressive bokeh effect than the one produced by the dedicated sensor at the back
  • Decent video recording quality, with a option to shoot slow motion videos
  • Uses the old MicroUSB plug, while the competition has started offering USB Type-C in the budget segment
  • Impressive battery life with a big 5000 mAh battery - it lasts for two full days on a single charge with moderate usage
  • Realme C11 is worth buying as long as your usage is basic - it has a good display that produces bright colours, cameras manage to deliver beautiful shots and the battery the can last days
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • The fingerprint sensor is placed a bit high though, and is not the most comfortable to reach
  • It's based on old Android Oreo though, which is a bit disappointing, for a phone launching in the middle of 2019
  • Although day-to-day performance is decent, and casual games run fine with the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC (similar to Snapdragon 632), the 2GB of RAM tends to be a bottleneck with a bit of lag when switching between apps
  • Low light performance is a struggle
  • The selfie camera can give good selfies under sunlight, but the AI beautification feature is a bit too aggressive, you will often end up with bad skin softening effects and white skin tone, resulting in artificial shots
  • The selfie camera's (software) portrait mode also doesn’t work too well
  • While the Oppo A5s is a classy looking smartphone, with a big strong point in terms of battery, it's performance is a bit lacking thanks to the limited RAM - it will face tough competition from its counterparts, including Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2, and Realme 3, which provide better all-round value
  • A bit heavy, at 196g
  • There is no Widevine L1 certification which means that you cannot enjoy HD content on Netflix and Amazon Prime
  • There's still some bloatware that comes pre-installed
  • Performance of the realme C11 is strictly average - the apps begin to lag when you try browsing the internet and running apps in the background simultaneously - as far as gaming is concerned, it is capable of handling light games only such as Temple Run, Candy Crush etc
  • Low light photos are average, as expected, they lack detail and aren't very sharp
  • Charging is on the slower side with the 10W charger - it takes over 3 hours to charge the smartphone completely
  • If you're looking for a good performing phone with all other bells and whistles, there's the realme C3 as alternative
