2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Simply one of the best designed smartphones all around in the sub-Rs 25, 000 price segment
  • Sturdy and well built - the overall chassis looks so rigid that it is hard to distinguish it from the most premium flagship phones
  • Uses an aluminum mid-frame while the back panel is plastic that has been textured to give it the effect of a beautiful rich gradient finish
  • The design takes precedent not only on the back but also at the front - the Oppo F11 Pro has a stunning all screen, immersive design that does not have a notch or hole punch cut-out at the front - the Oppo F11 Pro's pop-up camera liberates space at the top of the display for a sleek, modern look
  • Very good 6.5-inch LCD screen with full-HD+ resolution - it is crisp and has good viewing angles - you also get the option to tweak the colour output of the display as per your liking
  • ColorOS 6 is certainly better than before, and Oppo has taken an approach that is like what Samsung did with its One UI recently - the whole user interface has been tweaked to resonate with Google’s Material Design with large white surfaces around every nook and corner
  • Other useful features include a gesture based UI, a new app drawer, and a specialized Game Space mode
  • Good overall performance with a solid Helio P70 at the core (similar to Snapdragon 660/675) - everything runs smoothly including complex graphics games like PUBG
  • Good set of dual rear cameras at the back - there is a 48-megapixel main camera paired with a 5-megapixel depth sensor
  • In daylight, Oppo F11 Pro takes images that are quite natural with even dynamic range and saturated colors
  • In the night, where you use Night Mode, the result is extremely bright (though not very accurate)
  • The portrait mode puts the secondary sensor to use to distinguish between subjects and backgrounds, and adds a good bokeh effect
  • Video recording is good too, and image stabilisation is available which helps deliver video without a lot of shakiness
  • Of course, the hero here is the unique pop-up selfie camera experience - the image quality from the front camera is good too, and it includes a powerful beauty mode
  • Very good battery life with a 4000mAh battery - will give you up to 1.5 days of use
  • Supports VOOC fast charging standard, which is quite good - you will go from 0 to 46 percent in 30 minutes
  • Oppo F11 Pro is a a great, premium-looking, all-round device if you seek differentiation - this is a phone that should be seen for its beautiful design and engineering and not specifications
  • Very good looks and build quality - with a a unibody design, and glossy finish on the back panel - quite similar to its cousins - the M10 and M20
  • The Galaxy M30’s back panel doesn’t attract fingerprint smudges as much as M20 - it’s also better to grip and use for longer period of time
  • Very good, class-leading 6.4-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a tiny waterdrop notch - the screen is vibrant and offers pretty satisfactory legibility indoors and outdoors - one of the very few phones in this price bracket to have an AMOLED panel
  • Now packs the new Samsung One UI which is one of the most streamlined, clean, and refined Android skins around at present - and is especially well suited ergonomically for one handed use
  • It also has a very intuitive gesture navigation system
  • Decent, solid, mid-range performance with a Exynos 7904 octa-core processor (similar to Snapdragon 626) - it can easily handle your day-to-day tasks such as browsing, social networking and streaming multimedia on-the-go - graphic-intensive games like PUBG Mobile also run reasonably well on the phone (it is not however the best performance to be had in this price bracket - there are many better performing competitors)
  • Decent triple-rear camera setup - includes a 13-megapixel camera with f/1.9 sensor, 5-megapixel depth sensor, and 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with 123-degree viewing angle - the results are reasonably good for the given price point
  • You get some pretty good portraits
  • Decent selfie camera too
  • Overall, it's a decent camera setup - but it's not the best to be had in this price range
  • Excellent battery life with a massive 5000 mAh battery - you will get up to 2 days with moderate use
  • Samsung Galaxy M30 is a pretty capable mid-range smartphone, and if you’re looking for a phone with big battery and good camera, Galaxy M30 is worth considering - that said, it will face some stiff competition from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro which offers Snapdragon 675 processor and 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • Slightly on the heavy side
  • Overall though, it's still not quite as clean as a stock Android UI, or quite as refined as the MIUI
  • Of course, adding a mechanical component adds the risk of early product failure - it is a moving mechanism and could get damaged by drops or by dust and grime getting into it (although Oppo does claim it's been tested well to avoid such long term issues)
  • No 4K video recording support
  • Uses the old Micro-USB port, instead of the modern USB-C standard
  • Having said that, there is a lot of great competition around - the Redmi Note 7 offers a faster processor at a much lower price, the Poco F1 and the Zenfone 5Z offer a much faster processor and more bang for the buck at a similar price
  • The Oppo F11 Pro also faces competition from a pretty similar pop-up selfie camera device, the V15 Pro, which is a bit more expensive but provides a more versatile camera experience, and a slightly better processor
  • Overall, the F11 Pro makes sense if you are looking for the novelty of a pop-up selfie camera or a 'true' full screen design, and prioritise looks over other factors - if not, then you have better choices around
  • The lowlight performance of the rear and front cameras, is pretty average
  • No 4k video recording, and no stabilisation at 1080p
