2-minute Review [Positives]
  • Well-built, sturdy design - the unique dual-tone ridged pattern similar to other Poco phones at the back looks really nice
  • The front carries a dew-drop notch with decent bezels, which works for the price
  • The textured back surface feels grippy and doesn't attract fingerprints
  • The Face Unlock works decently in well-lit surroundings (though it leaves you at the helm of the passcode at night)
  • It doesn't feel too thick or heavy even though it measures around 9mm and weighs 194g
  • Good 6.53-inch IPS HD+ display - the viewing angles and colours are pretty good, better than those of the Realme C12 and C15
  • The brightness is also adequate (though, it could have been better)
  • MIUI 11 is as feature rich as ever, the overall interface on the phone is user friendly - Android 10 is running beneath all the jazz
  • Decent entry-level performance from the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC - good for day-to-day tasks and can handle a bunch of light to medium apps at once (though, there's some noticeable stutter in the animations and opening apps at times)
  • Decent triple rear cameras for the price - a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor
  • The quality of photos from the main camera is decent, given enough light - shots came out looking crisp and vivid
  • The macro camera works nicely, it produces usable photos in well-lit conditions for social media
  • Portrait mode works fairly well, even for objects
  • The 5MP selfie camera can produce decent selfies during the day - photos maintain good color, and exposure levels
  • Very good battery life - easily able to go about a day and half or even longer, on a single charge
  • The Poco C3 is a good smartphone for first-time buyers, or for those wanting a cheap secondary phone
  • Decent rear design - the Poco M2 uses a dual finish polycarbonate back, half of which is patterned and other half is smooth, similar to the Poco M2 Pro
  • The front is the routine, dew-drop notch with decent bezels
  • The fingerprint scanner is on the back and it is fast and reliable
  • The textured back of the Poco M2 feels great in the hand and provides excellent grip
  • Sharp, vibrant, and vivid 6.53-inch full HD+ IPS display - keeping the price-point of the phone in mind, Poco M2 offers a pretty good display
  • MIUI 11 is as feature rich as ever, the overall interface on the phone is quite smooth and user friendly - Android 10 is running beneath all the jazz
  • Very good performance from the new MediaTek G80 chipset (similar to the Snapdragon 712) - the phone smoothly handles day-to-day task with ease and heavy games like PUBG Mobile run reasonably well
  • Decent quad-camera setup - a 13MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor
  • The photos from the main camera are good for this budget class
  • The ultra-wide camera is among the better ones at this price and captures more of the scene easily
  • The macro camera puts out decent close-ups if you get the distance right with its fixed focus lens
  • The portraits are detailed, and the blur is convincing thanks to the dedicated depth sensor
  • Decent selfies from the 8MP front camera - portrait mode is available for selfies too, and it is as competent as a single fixed-focus camera can be
  • Excellent battery life with the 5000 mAh cell - with regular use, the Poco M2 easily lasts through two days of use
  • Poco M2 is a great option for people looking for a phone with decent gaming performance, good display, and solid battery life at an affordable price
2-minute Review [Negatives]
  • It packs in plenty pre-installed bloatware, the ads are still here, it isn't the perfect user experience
  • The Redmi 9 really struggles in low light - details are generally weak when shooting at night
  • Video quality is strictly average
  • The phone doesn't support fast charging and an hour of charge could only fill the battery to 40-percent charge
  • Thought if you can spend little more, there are better options available from Xiaomi and Realme
  • The display has average sunlight legibility and you’d have to keep the brightness all the way up for more clarity
  • It packs in plenty of bloatware, so you can get strange notifications and ads, which is annoying
  • Average low-light photos, the camera struggles to get the exposure right
  • Charging is a bit slow - the 10W charger included in the box tops up the Poco M2 in 2 hours and 48 minutes
