2-minute Review [Positives] |
- Looks chic and robust for its price - the front is a modern, water-drop notch, 6.2-inch panel, and the back is glossy plastic
- Decent, contrast-rich, 6.2-inch IPS display
- Packs Samsung's new One UI, which is one of the more streamlined and refined Android skins out there, and includes a nice, intuitive gesture navigation system
- Good, solid performance for the price bracket, with a Samsung Exynos 7884 at the core - you will get smooth daily performance, as well as smooth gameplay in casual to mid-end games
- The single rear-facing 13MP camera takes decent-looking pictures, for the price bracket (though detail, sharpness levels, and dynamic range could have been better)
- The 5MP front camera is also ok for the price (though again exposure levels and image noise could be better)
- Decent mono speaker
|
- Beautiful diamond-cut pattern on the back - it's a head turner, and quite impressive for this price bracket - you will find an identical back design on the more expensive Realme 1 and Realme 2 smartphones - the only difference here is instead of the glossy plastic, the Realme C2 is offering a matte finish
- Offers a very comfortable grip because of the textured back
- The matte finish and textured back also don’t attract fingerprints or smudges, like many other modern glossy phones
- The plastic body makes it feel light
- There is no fingerprint reader, but the face unlock system is pretty good
- Modern, tall, dew-drop notch display
- Quite good for binge-watching videos
- Ships with latest version of Android, Android Pie - one of the few affordable phones to do that
- ColorOS 6 adds a ton of nifty features, and an app drawer (something that had been requested by users from a long time)
- Decent day-to-day performance with a Helio P22 chipset (similar to Snapdragon 625) - basic use, and casual games run just fine - though of course, this is not a phone for power users
- Pretty decent camera performance, especially for daytime use - the images have decent enough details and punchy colors
- There is also Chroma Boost mode if you want more saturated and well-contrasted images.
- The shutter speed is fast enough and auto-focus is snappy
- Overall, this is one of the best camera setups in the ultra-budget category
- Excellent battery life with a large 4000mAh battery - with light to moderate use, you will get nearly two days of battery
- Overall, the Realme C2 is another 'very good bang for your buck' device from Realme, that can compete with similar phones from the current leader, Xiaomi - you get a beautiful design, a big display with a tiny notch, decent cameras, and an excellent 4000mAh battery - this is a very good pick for basic smartphone users, who don't need the best performance from their smartphones, but want a solid device otherwise (if you do need faster performance, you will want to look at higher price brackets)
|
2-minute Review [Negatives] |
- The glossy back is of course also a fingerprint magnet
- No notification LED
- No fingerprint sensor (there is face unlock though, which works reasonably well)
- No auto brightness sensor
- No compass
- Overall, the A10 is just an average phone from Samsung in what is now a pretty competitive price bracket - it misses out on key things like an auto-brightness sensor, and a compass, and so comes out as weak competition to the segment leaders from Xiaomi and Realme
|
- Display resolution is on the low side
- Average legibility under sunlight
- There are a bunch of preloaded apps, including DailyHunt, UC Browser, NewsPoint, ShareChat, Amazon India, Wynk Music, Webnovel, Opera browser etc - though thankfully you can uninstall all of these apps to save some storage space
- Indoor (low-light) shots are average though, as you would expect from this price bracket - you can use Chrome Boost for slightly better results but, the mode takes time to deliver the final output
