2-minute Review [Positives] |
- Very good looks and build quality - with a a unibody design, and glossy finish on the back panel - quite similar to its cousins - the M10 and M20
- The Galaxy M30’s back panel doesn’t attract fingerprint smudges as much as M20 - it’s also better to grip and use for longer period of time
- Very good, class-leading 6.4-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a tiny waterdrop notch - the screen is vibrant and offers pretty satisfactory legibility indoors and outdoors - one of the very few phones in this price bracket to have an AMOLED panel
- Now packs the new Samsung One UI which is one of the most streamlined, clean, and refined Android skins around at present - and is especially well suited ergonomically for one handed use
- It also has a very intuitive gesture navigation system
- Decent, solid, mid-range performance with a Exynos 7904 octa-core processor (similar to Snapdragon 626) - it can easily handle your day-to-day tasks such as browsing, social networking and streaming multimedia on-the-go - graphic-intensive games like PUBG Mobile also run reasonably well on the phone (it is not however the best performance to be had in this price bracket - there are many better performing competitors)
- Decent triple-rear camera setup - includes a 13-megapixel camera with f/1.9 sensor, 5-megapixel depth sensor, and 5-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with 123-degree viewing angle - the results are reasonably good for the given price point
- You get some pretty good portraits
- Decent selfie camera too
- Overall, it's a decent camera setup - but it's not the best to be had in this price range
- Excellent battery life with a massive 5000 mAh battery - you will get up to 2 days with moderate use
- Samsung Galaxy M30 is a pretty capable mid-range smartphone, and if you’re looking for a phone with big battery and good camera, Galaxy M30 is worth considering - that said, it will face some stiff competition from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro which offers Snapdragon 675 processor and 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor
|
- Stylish, slick, premium looks (looks more expensive than it is), good build quality
- The grip is comfortable enough to operate the phone with one hand
- The front is modern with a 6.35-inch HD+ IPS display that offers 89 per cent screen-to-body ratio, and a dewdrop notch
- Both the fingerprint scanner, and face unlock are quick
- Decent 6.35-inch HD+ IPS display - good for watching videos and consuming content
- Very good performance for the price category with a powerful Snapdragon 665 at the core - it's capable enough for smooth performance not just in daily use, but high-end games like PUBG
- Decent rear and front camera performance, overall, for the price bracket (not best in class though)
- There is a three-camera setup on Vivo U10's back panel, that includes a primary 13MP sensor, 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor
- You get fairly good and clear pictures in daylight
- Portrait mode works quite well too
- Excellent battery life with a large 5000mAh battery - you should get a comfortable 2 days of use
- Fast charging support - you can recharge your phone's battery to about 80% in just one hour, which is quite good
- The U10 is an overall excellent device from Vivo for the 10k price bracket, and looks capable enough to give a fight to the Redmis and Realmes of the world
|
2-minute Review [Negatives] |
- The lowlight performance of the rear and front cameras, is pretty average
- No 4k video recording, and no stabilisation at 1080p
|
- Somewhat bulky and boxy - it's a handful at 8.92mm thick and 190.5g in weight
- The glossy back finish attracts scratches and fingerprints
- Vivo's Funtouch UI is one of the heavier Android skins around, and packs plenty of bloatware - which means that if you like your phones simple and fuss-free, it's not the best option around
- Low light performance is average (there is plenty of noise)
