Design
- Well built (although its made mostly of plastic) - the mildly curved back and sides blend well with the 2.5D curved-edge glass so you never feel any sharpness - the weight is well distributed too
- The back panel has a cutout for the camera module, which makes for a distinctive look
- The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the home button, and is quick at authentication
- Big battery - this is one of the strong suits of the Coolpad Note 6 - the 4070mAh battery easily lasts over a day with regular use
- Somewhat boring design - doesn't follow the current industry trend of 18:9 displays with minimal bezels
Display
- The brightness levels on the display are also not the best, and you will find it tough to see anything under direct sunlight - automatic adjustment isn't too quick either, and often fails to get the level right
Software
- Uses Android Nougat, which is now getting old
- Coolpad's Journey UI on top of Android is not the best skin either and has some annoying issues - for instance, you can't swipe away the notifications to remove them, instead, you'll have to click on the delete option after swiping right or left to get rid of the notification
Performance
- Decent day to day performance backed by a reliable Snapdragon 435 processor
- While the day-to-day performance of the Note 6 is decent, there are now many competitors in this price bracket which offer better CPUs
Camera
- Mediocre rear camera - colours are a bit dull and there are plenty of visible artefacts in distant objects, which is a result of over-sharpening - autofocus is slow too for nearby objects
- Mediocre dual front cameras - selfies often appear grainy and often miss the mark with the white balance
- Video recording is average too - there’s no stabilisation so handheld movements result in jerkiness in the footage
- The camera app is glitchy too
- With the average cameras, the dull display, and the older version of Android, the Note 6 doesn't look like a particularly good option in this price bracket and will face very heavy competition from the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, and Asus
Audio
- Audio quality from the bottom-firing loudspeaker is average too
Battery
- No support for fast charging - the bundled charger takes two and an half hours to fully charge the battery
More
- Dedicated microSD slot and dual SIM slots
