Design
- Looks stunning, with an beautiful glass-based build - making it stand out amongst the competition in this price range - an elegant and modern design, executed almost perfectly
- The phone is also slim, compact, and pocketable - which, amongst a sea of mammoth phablets, is again a design choice that a lot of people will appreciate
- Decent face unlock functionality - one of the cheapest devices right now to boast the same!
- The glass based design means that if you drop it, you can do some damage to the device, so using a case would be a good idea
Display
- Very good edge-to-edge 5.65-inch full-HD+ screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, and with good sharpness, and brightness levels, making it one of the best displays in this price bracket
Software
- EMUI is pretty decent and has some nice add-ons to standard Android functionality, like split screen notifications, and dynamic fonts
- The EMUI interface is now cleaner than before, but still not as simple and no-nonsense as stock Android
Performance
- Good day-to-day performance backed by the solid Kirin 659 SoC (it's on par with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC)
Camera
- Dual camera setups on both the rear and front sides make for some good bokeh shots
- While the cameras are good with bokeh shots, standard photography is average and could have had better detail, brightness and composure - in roughly this price range, you’ll get better photography from the slightly more expensive Xiaomi Mi A1, which uses its dual-camera setup more effectively and delivers on everyday photography better
Battery
- Decent 3, 000mAh battery under the hood - the phone will get through the day on a single charge (having said that, there are better battery life phones in this price bracket)
- Takes a little over two hours to charge using the bundled 10W charger - fast charging support would have been a nice-to-have
More
- On the whole, while it's a good phone, this is a very competitive price range - the Xiaomi Mi A1, Moto G5S Plus and Huawei’s own Honor 7X will give the phone a tough fight - while Honor 9 Lite is arguably the best looking of all, it is not the most powerful of the lot, and the cameras, while decent, are not class leading
