Design
- Excellent build quality and handling
- Exceptional, high-end design - the Huawei P9 feels like a piece of jewellery in hand
- That along with the compact and lightweight chassis makes for a standout design
- The P9 has one of the fastest and most accurate fingerprint readers
Display
- Very good display - among the best IPS displays out there
Software
- The P9 continues the improvement of Huawei's Emotion UI on top of Android - it is very intuitive and easy to use, but still has lots of tweaks and customizations settings that will please everyone
Performance
- The Kirin 955 chipset offers stellar CPU performance (although graphics performance is below expectation) and runs cool for most of the time
- Fails to deliver a punch in the graphics performance, so high-end games will not run as seamlessly as other flagship devices
Camera
- Excellent (Leica) dual camera setup - the B&W samples turned out great, while the regular ones are flagship-worthy too
- Especially good low-light photography options, far ahead of any other smartphone at present
- Very good front camera too, with enough detail and accurate colors
- No 4K video recording, and even 1080p videos are below par - there is not enough detail, and the samples look like they have been upscaled from 720p resolution
Audio
- Good audio quality
- Decent loudspeaker
- Good call quality
Battery
- Good battery life, especially standby endurance
- No support for quick charging (unlike most of its competitors)
