Design
- Good looking, premium design, with a glossy mirror finish on the back panel
- Lightweight
- Fits comfortably in the hand
- Decent, fast rear fingerprint sensor
- The back panel is prone to smudges (though thankfully, the company has given a bundled protective case)
Display
- Good, modern, water-drop notch, 6.21-inch display - it offers some good colour reproduction and viewing angles
Software
- XOS UI is pretty decent, works smoothly, and comes loaded with some interesting features
- There is plenty of pre-installed bloatware though, a problem that plagues a lot of such custom UIs
Performance
- Decent day-to-day performance with a Helio A22 at the core (similar to Snapdragon 615) processor - light users will be happy (though power users will want to look elsewhere)
- Multi-tasking performance is limited though because of the limited 2GB of RAM - again, the device is only meant for light users
Camera
- Triple camera setup at the rear, which is a rarity for this price segment - includes a primary camera + depth sensor + low-light sensor
- Decent daylight performance from the rear camera set, with good detailing
- Macro shots are pretty good too
- Decent selfie camera too - the selfies look natural and have a decent amount of detail with punchy colours
- For this price point, this is one of the better camera phones
- Both the rear and front cameras have significant shutter lag though, so if you don't keep a steady hand, you can sometimes end up with blurry photos
- Low light performance of the rear camera is only average (even with the low-light sensor)
Battery
- Good battery life with a 3500mAh battery - you will comfortably get a day of use
- Decent charging speed - the phone can be charged from 0 to 100 per cent in about 1 hour and 30 minutes
Verdict
- Overall, the Infinix Smart 3 is an attractive choice for this price bracket, if you are fine with just-about-ok performance, and want to instead prioritise the camera
- If you do care more about performance more, look at options from Xiaomi or Realme instead
