2-Minute Review

Let's cut through the noise, and get to the crux of it. 3 Expert Reviews analysed and summarised by the PhoneCurry Editorial Team, in a short and sweet 2-minute review.

  • Sturdy build - the phone feels solid to hold — it has curved edges and a matte finish that offers good grip
  • Odd power button placement — it is below the volume keys on the left side of the phone - this placement makes using the phone difficult with one hand (most phones have the power button on the right side which is the ideal position to use with a thumb)
  • The display quality is pretty ordinary - the screen has poor viewing angles, low resolution, and fairly thick bezels on all sides, for a tall aspect ratio phone

  • One of the cheapest phones with a modern 18:9 aspect tall display

  • Average performance - with a basic quad core Spreadtrum processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, the phone is only suitable for basic use (calls, SMS, social media) - anything more and you will see it struggle

  • Decent daylight front camera performance (not so in low light though)
  • Average primary camera - it is feature packed with modes - but as with most entry-level smartphones, there are a lot of issues like shutter lag, low details and washed out colours

  • Average audio output via both headphones and speaker

  • Good battery life - will comfortably last a full day of use - and even up to 2 days with lighter use

  • Feature rich software is where Intex has tried to stand out from the crowd - even though it runs the older Android 7.0, the phone comes with face unlock, app freezer, app clone, anti-theft and an ultra-power saving mode - it also has a privacy mode – when activated, it creates a password-protected private profile with a file manager, camera, gallery, video player and dialer
  • On the whole, the Intex Infie 33 gives you an 18:9 display but with so many shortcomings that it might not feel worth the money - for the same price, you can look at the Intex Infie 5 that offers a better Mediatek processor, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, larger 4000mAh battery but with a standard 5-inch display in 16:9 aspect ratio - another option would be to consider is the iVoomi Me 3 which has a 5.2-inch HD display, 2GB RAM, Mediatek MT6737, 8MP rear and 8MP front camera - and of course you must also look at the ultra-budget champion, the Redmi 5A, which is another great option
