Design
- The back isn’t slippery, and the phone is easy to hold
- The capsule-sized home button doubles up as a fingerprint scanner, which is quick to unlock the device most times
Display
- Looks pretty neat and stylish thanks to a metallic finish at the back and 2.5D curved glass coating on top of a 5.5-inch screen
- Decent display with good viewing angles and sunlight legibility
Software
- Micromax's Steroid UI on top of Android is ok but not the best - for instance the Around Yu service which lets you look for buses, flights, hotel, and recharge by swiping right from the home screen seems half baked and will not work for many common searches
Performance
- Good performance - snappy in day-to-day performance and can handle multiple apps together - games work well too
Camera
- Has a pretty decent dual rear-camera setup at a budget price - the bokeh effect works reasonably well and even otherwise, the colours and details in photos are good, especially when taken in bright light
- The front camera is pretty decent too, especially in good light (and it has a front flash for low light situations)
- The phone also tends to heat up sometimes when using the camera app or watching online videos
- Although the cameras (both front and back) are pretty good in daylight, low-light performance is ordinary
Audio
- Dual stereo speakers perform well
Battery
- Battery life is average too, and will often require charging before the end of the work day with heavy use
- Charging speed is on the slow side too - it takes close to three hours for the battery to charge to a full 100 per cent
