Design
- Sturdy and well built - the overall chassis looks so rigid that it is hard to distinguish it from the most premium flagship phones
- Uses an aluminium mid-frame while the back panel is plastic that has been textured to give it the effect of a beautiful rich gradient finish
- The design takes precedent not only on the back but also at the front - the Oppo F11 Pro has a stunning full-screen, design
- Slightly on the heavy side
Display
- Very good 6.5-inch LCD screen with full-HD+ resolution - it is crisp and has good viewing angles - you also get the option to tweak the colour output of the display as per your liking
Software
- ColorOS 6 is certainly better than before, and Oppo has taken an approach that is like what Samsung did with its One UI recently - the whole user interface has been tweaked to resonate with Google’s Material Design with large white surfaces around every nook and corner
- Other useful features include a gesture based UI, a new app drawer, and a specialized Game Space mode
- Overall though, it's still not quite as clean as a stock Android UI, or quite as refined as the MIUI
Performance
- Good overall performance with a solid Helio P70 at the core (similar to Snapdragon 660/675) - everything runs smoothly including complex graphics games like PUBG
Camera
- Good set of dual rear cameras at the back - there is a 48-megapixel main camera paired with a 5-megapixel depth sensor
- In daylight, Oppo F11 Pro takes images that are quite natural with even dynamic range and saturated colours
- In the night, where you use Night Mode, the result is extremely bright (though not very accurate)
- The portrait mode puts the secondary sensor to use to distinguish between subjects and backgrounds and adds a good bokeh effect
- Video recording is good too, and image stabilisation is available which helps deliver video without a lot of shakiness
- The image quality from the front camera is good too, and it includes a powerful beauty mode
- No 4K video recording support
Connectivity
- Uses the old Micro-USB port, instead of the modern USB-C standard
Battery
- Very good battery life with a 4020mAh battery - will give you up to 1.5 days of use
- Supports VOOC fast charging standard, which is quite good - you will go from 0 to 46 percent in 30 minutes
Verdict
- Oppo F11 Pro is a great, premium-looking, all-round device if you seek differentiation - this is a phone that should be seen for its beautiful design and engineering and not specifications
- Having said that, there is a lot of great competition around - the Redmi Note 7 offers a faster processor at a much lower price, the Poco F1 and the Zenfone 5Z offer a much faster processor and more bang for the buck at a similar price
