Design
- The F3 Plus continues the Oppo tradition of excellent build quality, finish and design, with a well-designed metal unibody
- Rounded edges make it relatively comfortable to hold
- The fingerprint sensor is quick for unlocking the device, and just like before, you can use it for other purposes like locking apps and files
- Striking looks aside, there’s still no getting around the fact that this is a big phone, and quite heavy too
- The buttons on the sides are a bit of a reach, even for someone with large hands
Display
- The 6-inch display is beautiful, sharp, and really dominates the front of the phone, thanks to thin borders on the sides
- One of the advantages of lugging around a massive smartphone is the ability to really enjoy watching videos on such a large screen
- Colors on the display are pretty heavily saturated - which might not be to everyone's taste
Software
- ColorOS UI works well, is well optimised in terms of performance, and has aesthetics similar to iOS
Performance
- Good overall performance backed by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC, and 4GB of RAM (though benchmark numbers might not be as good as what's possible with a top-end Snapdragon 821 SoC but you’d be hard pressed to actually tell the difference in daily usage)
Camera
- Very good set of dual front cameras - unlike other dual front cameras, the second front camera here isn’t used for depth of field - instead, it has a wide-angle lens for group selfies, which is a much more practical idea that's likely to have a wider appeal (you can easily switch between the 2 cameras - one for individual selfies, and the other for group selfies)
- Overall, pictures from the front cameras are detailed, and even have good low-light performance - this is arguably the best selfie camera in this price bracket
- Rear camera is good too - daylight shots specially have very good detail and saturated colours that really pop - though the camera it's definitely not as good as the class-leading OnePlus 3/3T
Audio
- The single speaker is quite powerful, and sound is loud and fairly distinct
- Decent call quality
Battery
- Very good battery life - lasts well beyond a single day of regular usage
- Supports Oppo’s VOOC fast charging technology
More
- Misses out on the modern USB standard - USB Type-C
- No FM Radio
- No NFC support
