Design
- Subtle herringbone pattern glass back design - the choice of materials and finishes makes for a premium look and feel
- The front side greets you with a high-end thin-bezelled curved-edged display with a punch hole in the top left corner
- No IP68 water-resistance, there's only IP54 splash resistant
Display
- Stunning, crisp 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display - the colours and brightness are excellent, well worthy of a modern-day high-end device
- Capable of silky smooth 120Hz refresh rate - unlike the Galaxies of the day you can set both the resolution and the refresh rate at the highest settings at the same time
- It's also a 10-bit display, which produces over 1 billion colours as compared to the regular 8-bit displays that only covers 16 million colours
Software
- The company has revamped the user interface to offer a more simplified experience with the ColorOS 7 - it now provides new themes, wallpapers, icon styles - all these improvements make a considerable difference and make ColorOS 7 stand apart from any version in the past
Performance
- Blazing fast performance from the Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset - the phone breezes effortlessly through whatever task you throw at it - the Find X2 also keeps its cool during long performance sessions
Cameras
- Good triple camera setup - a primary 48MP, 13MP telephoto and a 12MP ultra-wide camera
- The images out of the Find X2's primary camera are sharp and capture good detail - it opts for a contrasty look with some deep shadows and the colour rendition is not over the top, but not dull either
- The ultra-wide captures a lot extra with slight loss of quality - it also has autofocus, which lets you get close to subjects and do exaggerated perspective shots as well as close-ups
- The telephoto camera takes sharp and detailed shots at its nominal 2X zoom level, which can digitally crop up to 5X
- Portraits on the Find X2 are decent - subject separation is inconsistent, but it works most of the time and results have good bokeh
- The 32MP camera takes very detailed selfies in good lighting - portraits are available, and the subject detection is typically excellent
- Low-light performance from all three cameras is average - there's a sizeable noise in the shots and both AI mode and Night mode offer exactly same shots
- Overall, the cameras on the Find X2 offer good performance, but they aren't flagship cameras as on the competing Galaxy S20 or the OnePlus 8 Pro
Audio
- Very good stereo speakers
Battery
- Good battery life with the 4200 mAh battery - with the highest settings enabled on the display it will last for a day of moderate use
- Incredibly fast charging - the 65W brick tops up the phone's battery in 38 minutes
- No wireless charging
Verdict
- The Oppo Find X2 is an excellent phone and a chart-topper in key areas like display, performance, and battery charging
- However, the Find X2 ends up too expensive to be competitive - at this price though, you're better off just picking one of the competitors
