Design
- Great build quality
- Relatively comfortable to use even with the giant screen size, as a result of some excellent ergonomics
- The unique Iris scanner as a way of unlocking the phone works alright but is still not as accurate/reliable as the fingerprint sensor
Display
- Excellent dual-curved display, with great image quality
- The "Always On" display feature has been improved and now shows third-party app notifications
Software
- Touchwiz is one of the better Android UIs around
- The new S Pen features and their interactions with the Always On screen can quickly work their way into your daily routine
- With all the software and hardware enhancements, the phone feels like an almost incomprehensibly versatile device, right out of the box
- The sheer versatility of the phone (how much it can do) is a 2 edged sword - if you are regularly going as far as to edit spreadsheets, or draw, or watch full-length movies, or have two apps open side-by-side, the phone is, without a doubt, the best in the game - but for more regular users, the phone, with all its goodies can sometimes seem overwhelming
Performance
- Excellent, top-notch performance, backed by top-line hardware, as you would expect from a flagship device
Camera
- Very good front and back cameras - the image quality is easily among the best
- Excellent video recording performance too - 4K videos are packed with detail
- While the overall camera quality is very good, but the image post-processing is sometimes a bit too aggressive
Audio
- Good loudspeaker
- Great audio quality via headphones
Battery
- Excellent battery life - marginally improved over the Note 5 too
More
- Arguably the most beautiful phone ever made by Samsung!
- Flawless S Pen Stylus
- Useful "screen off memo" feature
- "Secure Folder" is another great new feature
- Very good media experience - including system-wide video and sound enhancements, which would work with any video or music player you download
- 1080p @ 60fps videos are smooth
- On the whole, this is certainly the best "big" Android phone you can get, if money is no object!
- The 'Edge screen' functionality is not particularly useful
