Design
- Looks impressive, and beautiful with a light-reflecting "S" gradient pattern at the back
- Ergonomic design with smooth edges makes for a good hand feel
- Modern front panel, with a tiny notch
- Slim and light
- Solid build quality
- Decent in-display fingerprint sensor - it's not the fastest out there, but it's reasonable for the price point
- Very fast face unlock
Display
- Very good, AMOLED display, with good sunlight legibility and good viewing angles
Software
- HiOS interface is a pretty decent Android skin on the whole - it's not the lightest but it's not too bulky either - there are tons of customisations like themes and transitions
- There is some bloatware on the device, as is often the case with such custom skins (though thankfully most of it can be uninstalled)
Performance
- Decent performance with a Helio P35 at the core (similar to Snapdragon 632) - day-to-day performance is smooth
- Multi-tasking performance is very good too with a cool 6 GB of RAM
- CPU performance, while decent, is not the best for this price bracket - that space is taken by the competition from Xiaomi, Realme, and Asus
Camera
- Decent triple-camera setup at the rear - 16MP primary camera + 2MP depth-sensing lens + 8MP 120 degree Ultra-Wide Lens - takes decently good pictures, especially in daylight
- The Bokeh mode takes some really good shots
- Decent, high-resolution 32MP selfie camera
- The dual front flashes are powerful and help with indoor and low light selfies
- The phone also comes with AR emojis, a feature you normally see on more expensive high end devices - they work pretty well too, and add some fun element
Audio
- Good quality bundled earphones
Battery
- Good battery life with a 3500mAH battery - you will comfortably get a day of use
Verdict
- Overall, Tecno has done well here, managing to create a worthy device to compete in the most hotly contested price segment in India - it's a pretty reasonable alternative to consider against competition from Xiaomi, Realme and Asus
