Design
- Good build quality
- Sleek metal unibody design with a premium look and feel
- The fingerprint scanner integrated in the home button works great
- The display is bright, and has vivid colours and slim bezels
Display
- Screen resolution could have been better
Software
- Decent UI overlay over Android - includes features like split screen, one hand mode, long screenshot, app clone - there are a few bloatware apps preloaded but all of them can be uninstalled if required
Performance
- Day to day performance is fairly smooth
- The performance is decent in regular use and simple games, but there are certainly phones with better chipsets in this price bracket
Camera
- Very good front camera - comes with a number of features: group selfie mode, face beauty mode, portrait bokeh and live photo (records a few seconds of video along with the photo) - there is also an LED in front that can be used as a flash or fill light for video - overall image quality from the front camera is great — in daylight as well as indoors
- Rear camera performance is decent in daylight with sharp details and rich colours, but indoors the images don’t have much detail and low light images have lots of noise
- Video recording from the rear camera is limited to 1080p resolution only (some other phones in this price bracket now offer 4K resolution)
- Overall, the Vivo Y69 is a phone meant only for the selfie loving crowd (otherwise there are many overall better phones), and even within that segment it has tough competition from the likes of Gionee A1
Battery
- Good battery life - comfortably lasts the full day
