Design
- Nicely built - made of a good quality plastic with matte finish on the back which feels and looks better than phones with a glossy back - and gives the phone a good grip
- While the build is good, the looks are pretty ordinary and pale in comparison to the premium metal design of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime
- The big letdown is the 2, 100mAh battery which doesn't last through a whole day of modest usage
Display
- Decent display - good in terms of colour reproduction, viewing angles and sunny legibility
Software
- Runs a near plain Android interface, which keeps things simple and clutter-free
Performance
- Decent performance backed by the MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM - can handle most everyday tasks such as reading, web browsing, video playback and social networking very well (there is a slight lag while switching between apps, but not a lot)
- The performance is decent, but falls behind the Snapdragon 430 powered Redmi 3S Prime
Camera
- Strictly average camera - takes a little time to process images, and the picture quality, even during day time, looks washed out - low-light shots are equally noise-ridden - once again falling behind the camera performance of the Redmi 3S Prime
