Design
- Solid build quality - the main USP of the phone is its ruggedness and the build quality lives up to that - it's the sort of device that you can expect to survive a lot of drops and wear and tear
- Overall compact form factor makes it easy to hold
- Surprisingly, for a low end device, the phone also supports face unlock, which works decently well
- Aesthetics wise, though, the iPro doesn't score too well - it sports a pretty old-school design and is built out of plastic (which shouldn't come as any surprise in this price)
Display
- The key USP of the phone of course, is it's shatter proof display - its built to survive multiple drops, and not give way
- It's also a 18:9 tall display - again a surprise at this price point (though of course, there are noticeable thick borders above and below the display, which is understandable as demanding a bezel-less display would be a bit too much)
- The display quality though is strictly average - and there's a lot of cost cutting that has happened here - it's small and low resolution - it's also a bit dull, with low sunlight legibility and with not-so-sharp images - the colour reproduction is a bit washed-out and viewing angles are not as great - the touch sensitivity is also a bit lower than normal, and also the display does not sport any oleophobic coating
Software
- Runs on Google's Android Oreo (Go edition), which is optimised for low-powered hardware
- The UI is almost stock
Performance
- Strictly low end performance with the ultra-budget MediaTek MT6737 powering the phone and a measly 1GB of RAM - this is strictly a "very basic use" phone - navigating through the user interface is moderately zippy, but the smartphone slows down with even three apps running in the background — you will get stutters and lags while scrolling through heavy apps such as Facebook, and even when capturing photos or browsing through websites
Camera
- Mediocre cameras, as you might expect at this price point - photographs from the rear camera turn out to be below average even during the daylight — there is a very slow shutter involved and photos often tend to blur out - the front camera too is average and can take usable pics only with ideal lighting conditions
Battery
- Decent battery life, the 2000mAH battery pack lasts the day helped by the low-end hardware, and the small low-res screen
- The battery is replaceable
More
- For a very specific audience - people who really want a shatter proof screen - perhaps because of the nature of their work (say in the construction industry) - or perhaps for someone looking for a secondary robust phone as a backup - the iPro might make sense - everyone else might want to look at other choices
