Design
- Metal unibody design, solid hand feel
- The fingerprint sensor on the back has good placement and unlocks quickly
- The back is somewhat slippery to hold, and attracts smudges (so it is recommended to use the bundled clear case that comes in the box)
- Thick bezels around the screen, old-school design
Display
- Pretty good 5.5 inch, Full HD display - it is bright, offers good color output and the sunlight legibility is good even in bright outdoors
Software
- Decent custom UI over Android, with minimal bloat and some useful added features (Freezer app to disable seldom used apps, a theme store, gestures, built-in anti-theft, auto call recording, Intelligent assistant with scheduled power on/off feature, etc)
- Runs old Android 7.1
Performance
- Good day-to-day performance backed by the solid Snapdragon 430 processor - day-to-day tasks and simple games run smoothly
Camera
- Decent rear camera - can take good images in good lighting conditions (not so much in low light)
- Good dual front camera setup, with wide angle selfie (group selfie) support, and a front flash (there is no portrait mode though - the dual camera setup is only used for wide angle selfies)
Audio
- The loudspeaker is on the quite side
Battery
- Good battery life - the 3000mAh built-in battery will last the day with moderate to heavy use
More
- On the whole, the Mobiistar XQ Dual is a decent phone, but it is in a very competitive price segment, and will likely find it difficult to compete against the current leaders in this price segment (the likes of 10.or G, RealMe 1, Honor 7A, Redmi 5, and Redmi Note 5)
